FAMILY CLASSES (ALL AGES)
Duration: 45 minutes
KMAA's most popular program is our martial arts classes for families. These classes provide an opportunity for the whole family to learn valuable skills together.
Parents can train alongside their children at the beginning of the class. The class is then divided into age-specific groups for training designed for students' ages and ability levels.
These classes are ideal as they encourage parents and children to work together in learning and developing their new skills while having a great time!
Everybody is welcome in KMAA's Family classes. While they are ideal for families, they are also open for individual students to come and train on a regular basis, or to complete catch up lessons. We also find many siblings attend family classes together as it suits the busy schedules of families.
"I'm a father of three, between my kids at school, extra-curriculars and myself and my wife working, we were finding it hard to spend quality time with the whole family. We tried KMAA's Family classes on Saturday mornings and we all loved it - even my eldest 14 year old! It's fantastic that we can all come to the same session but get our individual classes tailored to our age and belt level. I can't thank KMAA enough for running these family friendly, fun classes."

"We have been training at KMAA as a family for nearly 4 years now. I like it because it challenges my fitness and helps me to build self-defence skills. It's fun being able to look to the other side of the room and see my boys training in their classes, and being able to interact with them in between activities. Coming to KMAA has given me the ability to be able to tell my boys to walk away if they ever get into a bad situation, while feeling confident that if they can't walk away, they know how to defend themselves and stay safe." - Lisa
"We like learning how to do kicks, strikes and blocks!" - Ethan and Liam

"We have been training at KMAA for around 6 years. The best thing about it is that it's something we can all do together all year round, and we are all working towards a common goal to achieve our black belts (Chris and Moonsun have already achieved this, and the girls aren't far off!). It's a challenge and a learning experience for the whole family and it helps us make sure we are getting plenty of exercise.
We love training at KMAA in particular because it's a really family friendly environment with a great sense of community - we look forward to going out for coffee after class every week!"

"My boys have been training at KMAA for 2 and a half years, and I started a year after them. I hadn’t considered martial arts for myself, but watching my boys having so much fun during training and developing skills and confidence, I thought I’d give it a go too. It's wonderful for fitness, and challenges you to achieve things you didn’t know you were capable of. During a busy week it's great to be able to do activities together instead of taking everyone in different directions. We can practice together and help each other remember forms and techniques. The boys say the best thing they like is training with and meeting new friends. I think it speaks to the fact that KMAA works towards creating a wonderful community built on support rather than competition, and fun and inclusion rather than being strict and rigid."
